Hi, that’s the same expression but different vintage.

General overview of this expression seems like it’s scored quite nice ratings so my guess is that it’s a solid choice which ever vintage you choose. Whiskybase is the best place to look for more detailed info about brand bottlings and possible expression quality variations.

Thanks for the comment and sorry to hear that Jayne. This Penderyn Madeira single malt that I tried was definitely on the stingy side when it comes to first impressions. I managed to make it smoother by giving it plenty of air time, letting it rest in the glass. Still, not the best notes for my palate because it’s quite pointy and fruity.

Unfortunately haven’t tasted that one. In general, I like Japanese (and Irish) blends more than Scottish ones. They tend to make them smoother. Whiskybase has good scores for the older bottlings so might be a good bet to buy it, especially with that price.
