Two Stacks Irish Dram In A Can

Two Stacks is literally a “Dram in a can” – single malt whiskey from Ireland. This one’s been double matured in bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry butts. Containing 40 % of double and 50 % of triple distilled malt, along with 10 % of peated malt.

Whiskey on the go

The dram felt very subtle, especially the palate. It was very hard to detect notes from the taste. There was some taste that I couldn’t tell what it was, might have been the peated malt effect.

Matured in:
Ex-Bourbon casks and Ex-Sherry Oloroso butts
ABV: 43%
Colour: Gold
Non-chill filtered, no added colour
Nose: Strong notes of honey wax, pears and hints of marzipan.
Taste: Barley and grass with some fruity notes, very mellow and smooth.
Finish: Short and bit stingy. Mildly spicy, quite fruity and bit floral.
Balance: Pleasant but a bit too mellow and one-sided for my taste. Nothing really seems to push forward in aromas or palate.
