Knockando 1993 12 year old review

Knockando logo

SOME LIKE IT HOT but this is mildly hot

Knockando 12 year old is always a product of one single season. I got a chance to taste the 1993 version at our local whisky society tasting in Finland.

Knockando 12yo review

If Knockando 12YO was a movie, it might be a typical Friday night romantic comedy or just some easy comedy. Romantic comedy might not be the most relevant example, because it’s not an easy genre for everyone. But you know what I mean. Knockando 12 yrs is very easy.

In my opinion, Knockando 12YO is Some Like It Hot. Even though it isn’t a screwball comedy – it isn’t ridiculous in any way. But it is easy and mildly hot. I really enjoyed Knockando’s easy going lightness.

Bit of an positive upset, because strong aromas and big characters or complexity tend to be the factors, that I usually look for. Knockando 12 yrs wasn’t any of those. That’s why it has to be a good dram. Even I liked it!

Nose: Fruits with some floral notes. Nicely earthly and very sharp.

Taste: Dry with peppers. Some sweet spots in the mix as well.

Finish: A bit too short but nice and spicy. Tenderly smooth.

Balance: Easy dram, that is light in every step of the way. Even the spices come in a smooth package.

Colour: Sunlight
