Bowmore 10YO Inspired by the Devil’s Casks Series

Bowmore 10 year old

Quick review of Bowmore 10 year old single malt whisky Inspired by the Devil’s Casks Series. I had a quick sample of this in a whisky tasting at my friend’s cabin. So bare with me on these tasting notes, those were assembled quite fast.

This whisky is a mixture of classic Islay coastal notes in a marriage between Oloroso sherry butts and red wine barriques. Bottled for travel retail at 46% alcohol by volume level.

Matured in:
Marriage of Ex-Sherry and Ex-Wine casks
ABV: 46%
Colour: Dark amber
Nose: Sherry and peat dominate. Plums and spices mixed in together.
Taste: Dark fruits, sherry and leather.
Finish: Plums and peat smoke. Oranges and raisins.
Balance: Easy to approach, usual Bowmore characteristics in a sweet package./su_note]
