Bulleit is a good “bang for the buck” bourbon from Kentucky. A Gold medalist from the 2004 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. It has approximately 30% rye content, which shows in the taste. The nice old fashioned bottle completes a nice whiskey experience.
Bulleit Bourbon is a straight shooter with smoothness and spices. It is like Billy the Kid, of course better than the movie. Like the real William Bonney. Manages to hit me straight in the target (in a good way).
Nose: Corn in sweet and fresh way. Oranges and spices, and I think I spotted the rye already.
Taste: Surprisingly smooth with rye and cinnamon, oranges and dry spices.
Finish: Robust and warming with spices, medium length. Aniseed comes in delay.
Balance: Not complex but a good dram.
Color: Dark amber
