Here’s my quick notes on Tamnavulin Sherry Cask Edition, batch 30502. This Speysider was unfortunately a fast visit during a long tasting, so my notes aren’t probably the best ones.
Overall, easy to drink and pleasant palate, but lacks a bit in character, especially the finish needs more power. I bet this sherry cask finished dram could benefit from higher alcohol by volume level.
Or instead of three different sherry cask types, they’d use just one?

Tasting notes
Matured in:
American oak barrels, finished in three Ex-Sherry casks
Nose: I think I detected hints of peat. Minty drops. Salty apples and raisins, combined with peaches.
Taste: Nicely oily. Toffee and fruits in a velvet coating. Caramel notes are there too.
Finish: Short, full and oily. Sugary oak along with hints of spices and grapes.
Balance: Just got a glimpse of this whisky while doing a tasting. This might need more time in your
whisky tasting glass, my judging is based on fast consumption. Taste felt nice but aftertaste could definitely offer more.
