Dalmore Dominium Review

The Dalmore Dominium is a premium expression of their travel retail Fortuna Meritas Collection. Dominium means “ownership” and is a reference to when the Mackenzie clan saved King Alexander III from a charging stag. From that point forward they were granted use of the royal stag emblem.

It’s been matured in American oak bourbon casks. It then gets its finish in first-fill casks from the Gonzalez Byass bodega which have previously held 30 year old Matusalem sherry. Matusalem is an Oloroso sherry cask that’s been sweetened by 25% with Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.

Best Dalmore for me so far!

I’m not a fan of Dalmore because it feels too delicate for my taste. This trend seems to continue with Dominium. Although this is just a quick note based on my experiences at local tasting. And my score is fairly good when compared to previous Dalmore scores.

I’m sure that people with more sophisticated taste can appreciate Dalmore whiskies more. And will score this above 90 points.
