Springbank 12YO Cask Strength batch 19 review

I had previously tasted batch 10 and batch 13 of 12 year old cask strength Springbank single malt. I fell in love with both of them. And many others have fallen too.

This time it was batch 19 in our local Finnish whisky society’s tasting. Unfortunately these are just my quick notes, this amazing dram would need more time. Let it rest in your whisky glass and take your time.

Batch 19 was bottled in 2019, matured in 65% bourbon and 35% sherry casks.

Tasting notes

Amazing job by Springbank distillery as always. This series is pure quality!

Matured in:
65% Ex-Bourbon and 35% Ex-Sherry casks
Colour: Deep amber
ABV: 57.1%
Non-chill filtered, no added colour
Nose: Salted caramel combined with peat and sea air. Oak and burnt barley.
Taste: Sherry influence is amazingly high. Toast with orange marmalade and sweet berries. Little bit of smoke.
Finish: Lots of peat. Very long! Spices and nuts, hints of honey.
Balance: This character is very even all the way, in great balance.
